Classical Lutheranism for the Contemporary World
The Conservative Reformer is an online magazine founded in 2024 by Just and Sinner. Jordan Cooper is the editor-in-chief, while Nathan Greeley is the managing editor. The Conservative Reformer takes its name from the American Lutheran Theologian Charles Porterfield Krauth's classic book The Conservative Reformation. With Krauth, we believe that effective reform, whether in the church or culture, is always rooted in the wisdom of the past. We contend that the historic Lutheran tradition is equipped to address the problems faced by the world in the twenty-first century.
The aim of this periodical is to provide an outlet for publishing content that promotes what could be called classical confessional Lutheranism. This is a type of Lutheranism that consciously seeks to maintain and preserve all that was great about Lutheranism in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and bring it forward into our contemporary context.
